Dollop does not collect any data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind in the app. This is not a policy about how carefully your information is handled. There is no information to handle.

What leaves your phone

Nothing. The app contains no networking code at all: there is no server on this side and nothing in Dollop that could talk to one. It works exactly the same with the phone in airplane mode, and the only address anywhere in it is a link out to a page on this website, which opens in your browser if you tap it.

The daily color

Everyone gets the same color each day, and it is not downloaded. The date is turned into a number and the number picks a color out of a list the app already carries. Nobody is counted, and no request is made to find out what today's color is.

Your photographs

The From Life mode asks the camera or your photo library for one picture so you can point at a color inside it. That image is read on your device, the color under your finger is measured, and that is the end of it. It is never uploaded, never stored anywhere but where you already keep it, and never sent to anyone. If you would rather not grant the permission, every other mode works without it.

What is saved, and where

Your creature, its DNA, whether you have played today, your daily streak, the sound setting and the fact that you have seen the introduction are all stored on the device in the app's own settings. They stay on that phone. Deleting the app deletes them, which is the only way to erase them and does not require asking anybody.

Purchases

The one purchase that unlocks Blind, Precise and From Life is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple takes the payment and tells the app whether it went through. Your payment details, your name and your email address are never seen on this side. Restoring a purchase asks Apple, not us.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is safe for any age, for the plain reason that it collects nothing from anybody, regardless of how old they are. There is nothing in it to buy other than the single unlock, no chat, no links to anywhere except this website, and nothing that asks for a name.

Changes

If this ever changes, the change will appear here with a new date, and any version of the app that collects something will say so on its App Store page before you install it.
