Privacy policy

GRNGE does not collect any data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind in the app. This is not a policy about how carefully your information is handled. There is no information on this side to handle.

What leaves your phone

Nothing that reaches me. The app contains no networking code: there is no server on this side and nothing in GRNGE that could talk to one. It works exactly the same with the phone in airplane mode. The only traffic is between your phone and Apple, when the App Store checks your subscription.

Your photographs

You choose a photo from your library or take one with the camera. Every effect, and finding the subject for a cut-out, runs on your phone. Your photos are never uploaded and never sent to anyone. A copy of the photo is kept inside the app with your print, so you can go back and change it. Deleting the print deletes it, and deleting the app deletes everything.

Permissions the app asks for

Camera. Asked for only when you tap the camera button, and used only to take the photo you choose to use.

Photos, to add. Used only when you tap Print, to save the finished print to your library. The app asks for permission to add, not to see your library.

Choosing a photo needs no permission at all. The picker is run by iOS, and the app receives only the picture you pick. It never sees the rest of your library.

What is saved, and where

Your prints, their settings and the app's preferences are stored on the phone, in the app's own storage. The app does not sync them anywhere and nothing else can read them. Deleting the app deletes them, which does not require asking anybody.

Purchases

GRNGE Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system as a subscription. Apple takes the payment, manages the free week and the renewals, and tells the app whether the subscription is active. Your payment details, your name and your email address are never seen on this side. Restoring a purchase asks Apple, not me, and cancelling is done in your Apple account.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and is safe for any age, for the plain reason that it collects nothing from anybody. There is no chat, no feed, no profile, no links out except to this policy and to Apple's standard terms of use, and nothing that asks for a name.

Changes

If this ever changes, the change will appear here with a new date, and any version of the app that collects something will say so on its App Store page before you install it.
